Susan Fagen Britt has been a member of the New York Bar since 1985 and is a member of the Bar of the US District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York since 1985. She was a founding member of Hirsch, Britt & Mose, Garden City, New York, which was established in 1997. Ms. Britt was an associate and then a partner at Matturro and Hirsch. Prior to that, Ms. Britt was associated with the firm of Rifkin, Radler and Kremer in Uniondale, New York, where she practiced for eight years. She is a trial attorney and has tried medical malpractice cases, personal injury cases, sexual harassment cases as well as arbitration matters. She has handled major general liability trials, products liability trials, professional liability cases, and civil RICO matters. Ms. Britt has represented physicians before the Office of Professional Misconduct. Additionally, she has represented dentists, podiatrists and nurses before the Office of Professional Discipline. Since 2023 she is of counsel to the firm of Wagner Doman Leto & DiLeo, Mineola, New York where she represents clients in malpractice cases.
Since 1986 she was an instructor in the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and is presently a member of the Board of Directors of the Theodore Roosevelt Chapter of the American Inns of Court. She is an Assistant Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York and has lectured for “in-service" programs at Franklin Hospital Medical Center, North Shore University Hospital, Northport Veterans Administration Hospital and LaGuardia Hospital. Ms. Britt has also taught at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. She is an Associate Adjunct Professor in the Master’s in Health Administration program at Hofstra University, Hempstead, New York since 2016. She's been a member of the Medical – Legal committee of the Nassau County Bar Association and has lectured for the Nassau Academy of Law. Ms. Britt has served on the Board of Trustees for the American Lung Association of Nassau – Suffolk Counties, New York. Ms. Britt was also a member of the Institutional Review Board at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, Old Westbury, New York. Also, Ms. Britt participates as a mediator at the Supreme Court, Nassau County.
Prior to law school, Ms. Britt practiced as a Registered Nurse at Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center and served as a lecturer in microbiology at Brooklyn College, Brooklyn, New York.
Ms. Britt is a graduate of Hofstra University School of Law. She completed her undergraduate studies at Adelphi University, Garden City, New York where she majored in biology.
